"Some horses come into our lives and quickly go.
Others stay a while, make hoofprints on our
hearts and we are never, ever the same."

Here are photos of some of the horses we were fortunate enough to own for awhile and who have gone to new homes where we are sure they are receiving all the attention and love they so much deserve . . ..

"Fuzzball" was a very special horse.  We purchased him as a completely unhandled yearling colt and worked with him over the next three years.  Fuzzball was very important to James, as we got him shortly after James' father passed away, and this horse was extremely helpful to the healing process.  He went to Roberta Horton of Seguin, TX, who was looking for a good barrel horse.  He had the build and the size she had been searching all over for.  We registered him with AQHA as "For My Father".  Fuzball, we truly miss you.

Shiloh, registered with AQHA as Blue Moon Creek, was a Special Effort grandaughter that we bred to our stallion, Zandy (see "our boys").  When we decided that we needed to, at least temporarily, trim down our number of horses, Nora Smits of Seguin, TX, purchased her, in foal.  Shiloh was a very sweet mare and produced a beautiful palomino colt from that breeding.  He can be seen on Zandy's page, 2003 foal named Zandys Creek.

We rescued Chance when my husband purchased him at a local flea market.  He was nothing but skin and bones at the time, and afraid of his own shadow.  After a year of nurturing and a lot of patience, he was truly a beautiful horse.  Congratulations to Jon Herrera for his purchase of this special boy -- Rydls Devine Chance.

We purchased Jamie (roan appaloosa filly - right) as a yearling, along with her half sister, Lavender (few spot appaloosa filly - left).  Both of these girls, at different times, have returned to Susan Cates in Sequin, their breeder and original owner.  They were two that she sorely missed and regretted having sold.  We understand how she felt and were glad they returned to her.  I imagine their original home will be their home for life.
